Why Native Plants Matter
Native plants are unsung heroes, providing support to an entire ecosystem. Biodiversity is crucial to a resilient ecosystem, particularly in the face of climate change and increasing urbanization which reduces the amount of natural area available to support wildlife.

Invasive Plants
Invasive plants are species that aren’t native to a particular ecosystem and cause harm to that environment, economy, or even human health. These plants tend to spread rapidly and out-compete native plants for resources, which can affect animals and other organisms that rely on native plants for food and habitat.

Being a Master Gardener has been an important part of my life. Having a positive impact on the environment and supporting wildlife through gardening is fulfilling and makes me feel I’m making a difference in my community. Meeting and socializing with fellow Master Gardeners who share my passion for gardening is an added bonus!
